‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Star James Marden Wants To See Tails In Sequel

Sonic the Hedgehog Redesign Official Ben Schwartz James Marsden Tails

James Marsden is hoping to see Tails in the potential Sonic The Hedgehog sequel.

Despite hitting a bumpy road in its early days with a less than ideal character design, Sonic The Hedgehog is one of the biggest hits of the year and has seemingly added more weight and credibility video-game adaptations. The Sonic film was both a critical and commercial success and continues to be a pleasurable and hilarious watch for all of those currently in quarantine. Sonic star James Marsden recently revealed that he’d be interested in seeing Tails have a more prominent role should a sequel be greenlit. Tails appeared at the end of the film, hoping to find his buddy Sonic.

There’s quite a high chance that a Sonic The Hedgehog sequel will grace cinemas, though nothing has been confirmed from an official standpoint. Speaking to Comicbook.com, James Marsden discussed what exactly he’d like to see if Sonic getst its well-deserved sequel. And like the rest of the Sonic fandom, Marsden revealed that he was eager to see Tails join him and Sonic.

“Well I think we’d do a lot more of the same, but we would probably hopefully throw even more set pieces in there and more action sequences. I think we’d hopefully introduce some new characters, some beloved characters from the video game. If you stayed through the credits, you saw a little introduction to Tails. Hoping we’d see Tails come in. You know, who knows? The good thing is, is that hopefully when we come back to earth after this thing and we’re still making movies, that Paramount will really fire it up again, and we’ll just have double the fun.”

With the character being teased at the end of the film, it’s certain that Tails will become a major player should a sequel be greenlit. More of the same is also a perfect way for the Sonic The Hedgehog sequel to go and new characters are always a plus! There’s no telling when a sequel could speed into production considering we’re going through a global pandemic, which is something James Marsden even brings up.
