Storyboard for the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog film have been revealed.
After the much-talked about redesign for Sonic that caused Paramount to delay the film’s release, the live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movie has begun to ramp up its marketing campaign. With a new trailer that graced us at the end of last year, fans were excited to see Sonic in a light that was familiar. Now, a storyboard artist for the live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movie has revealed a bevy of storyboards for the project. The storyboards for the Sonic movie focus on the scene from the trailer that sees Sonic and his human friend Tom in a car chase, as they are followed by Dr. Robotnik’s drones and lackeys.

Behind-the-scenes tidbits like this show fans the magnitude of what goes into a major blockbuster like Sonic The Hedgehog, especially for a film that was criticized for its creative choices right from its first major reveal. Paramount did its due diligence by catering to Sonic fans and redesigning the look of the iconic character for the live-action film. Hopefully, fans of the video-game franchise show up this Valentine’s Day to see Sonic The Hedgehog make his live-action debut on the big screen.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster video game franchise from Sega that centres on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination.
Directed by Jeff Fowler from a script written by Patrick Casey, Josh Miller, and Oren Uziel, Sonic the Hedgehog features the voice talent of Ben Schwartz as the titular character and stars James Marsden as sheriff Tom Wachowski, Jim Carrey as Dr. Ivo Robotnik, Neal McDonough as US Army Major Bennington, Tika Sumpter as Mrs. Wachowski, Lee Majdoub as Stone, and Frank C. Turner as Crazy Carl. Adam Pally, Natasha Rothwell, Debs Howard, and Elfina Luk also star in undisclosed roles.
Sonic the Hedgehog is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 14, 2020.
