‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Sequel Officially In Development

A sequel this year’s surprise hit film, Sonic the Hedgehog is now officially in development at Paramount.

After months of talks and rumors, it has now been confirmed that a sequel to this year’s surprise hit, Sonic the Hedgehog is now in development at Paramount. The film was, of course, one of this year’s only big hits as the film went into theaters before the coronavirus situation became serious in the United States. The film currently has a 64% approval rating and earned well over $300M worldwide, making it one of the biggest hits of the year and one of the most successful video game adaptations to date.

Sonic the Hedgehog‘s director had previously teased at the possibility of a sequel and even a full cinematic universe featuring the iconic video game character. Nothing, however, was definitively confirmed, however, until now. Jeff Fowler will be returning to the director chair and Pat Casey and Josh Miller penning the script for the Paramount film. The film, however, currently does not have a release date.
