Sony is pulling back the curtain on next year’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Earlier this week, Sony released a brand new trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the second chapter of its critically-acclaimed Spider-Verse saga. The sneak peek offered fans a look at the highly-anticipated return of Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy, as well as the introduction of Issa Rae’s Jessica Drew and Oscar Isaac’s Miguel O’Hara.

With the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer now online, Sony has also released a fresh synopsis for the movie. It reads as follows: “Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.”

The team behind Across The Spider-Verse

Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson from a screenplay written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Dave Callaham, Across The Spider-Verse also features the voices of Jake Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Vélez, Jason Schwartzman, Rachel Dratch, Shea Whigham and Jorma Taccone. Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Christina Steinberg are producing alongside Lord and Miller.

Kemp Powers recently opened up about The Spot, the villain of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and its follow-up Beyond the Spider-Verse. “The Spot is an interesting villain because he seems like a joke, but when you really look at his powers, there’s incredible potential. His ability to open portals across dimensions sets him up perfectly for the Spider-Verse,” Powers told Total Film.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is currently scheduled to hit theaters on June 2, 2023. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the upcoming movie and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
