Sony announced Morbius, Venom: Let There Be Carnage and a number of other movies will get an IMAX release.
After a number of Sony’s blockbuster releases were delayed thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, a number of the studio’s films were pushed to 2021. Next year was already going to be a big year for Sony, with the the long-in-development Uncharted movie and Tom Holland’s untitled Spider-Man 3 slated for release in October and November respectively. But with Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Morbius and Ghostbusters: Afterlife all pushed to 2021, theatergoers will have plenty of choice throughout the year.
Thankfully fans will be spoilt as Sony recently anounced that Morbius, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Uncharted and Ghostbusters: Afterlife will all get an IMAX release. Anticipation for Morbius and Tom Hardy’s Venom sequel is already high, while some fans are a little skeptical about Tom Holland’s Uncharted movie. Voice actor Nolan North even expressed his concerns over Mark Wahlberg playing Sully in the film. But with production on hold because of the pandemic, it’ll be some time before we learn anything new about the video game adaptation. Hopefully Uncharted‘s IMAX release will prove the naysayers wrong.
Will you watch Morbius and Venom: Let There Be Carnage in IMAX? Or are you more excited for the IMAX release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Uncharted? Let us know in the comments!
