Sophia Di Martino Reportedly Playing Female Loki In Tom Hiddleston’s Disney Plus Series

A new report suggests that Sophia Di Martino has signed on to play a female version of Loki in the character’s Disney Plus series starring Tom Hiddleston.

Earlier this week, Sophia Di Martino became the first confirmed cast member to join Tom Hiddleston in the upcoming Loki Disney Plus series, though details on her role were unknown at the time. However, Deadline’s report regarding Sophia Di Martino’s casting mentions that “one source close to the production hints that Di Martino may in fact portray a female incarnation of Loki” in the series.

The female incarnation of Loki has appeared in several Marvel comic book storylines, with the God of Mischief taking on the forms of characters like Lady Sif and Scarlet Witch. On the big screen, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki has shown off his shapeshifting abilities in movies like Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok.

Sophia Di Martino is known for her role in the British sitcom Flowers, which is available to stream on Netflix. Earlier this year, Sophia Di Martino appeared in her first role in a big studio film with Danny Boyle’s Yesterday alongside Himesh Patel and Lily James.

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki series is said to follow the character as he travels through time and becomes embroiled in major historical events. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has also confirmed that Loki will tie into the film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
