‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ Star Sophie Turner Would Love To Return In The MCU

X-Men: Dark Phoenix star Sophie Turner expressed her interest in returning to the role of Jean Grey for the MCU.

With the release of 20th Century Studios’ Dark Phoenix, the X-Men film series that launched back in 2000 effectively came to an end now that Disney has acquired the company. While Marvel Studios is expected to reboot the X-Men franchise once it incorporates the mutants into the MCU, some fans are wondering if the company might bring back certain actors such as Sophie Turner instead.

During an interview with Variety, Sophie Turner was asked if she could see herself returning to the X-Men franchise. While the Dark Phoenix star stated that she doesn’t know what Disney has planned for the MCU’s future, she would “kill” to go back to the role of Jean Grey:

“I don’t even know what the deal is, whether Disney wants to continue on the ‘X-Men’ journey [or not]. I mean, I would always be down to go back to that character and that cast and that experience. We had just the best time on those movies. I would kill to go back.”

Would you like to see Sophie Turner reprise her role as Jean Grey or should the MCU completely reboot the X-Men franchise going forward? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Here is the official synopsis for Sophie Turner’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix:

This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet — one of their own.

Written and directed by Simon Kinberg, X-Men: Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is now available on Digital HD, 4k Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
