‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’: Tom Holland Wants Peter & Ant-Man To Team Up

Spider-Man: HomecomingWith Spider-Man: Homecoming being a sort of buddy picture between Peter Parker and Tony Stark, Spider-Man star Tom Holland wants to team up with Ant-Man in the future. Peter Parker’s journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe began with Captain America: Civil War, and it looks like he’s here to stay with a sequel to his solo film already announced.

In Captain Amerca: Civil War, Spider-Man came toe to toe with Ant-Man/Scott Lang during the airport action sequence. The chemistry and comedic timing between both heroes were widely praised, with many believing it was the highlight of the film. With Tony Stark being a prominent character in the webslinger’s solo film, it was recently revealed that Robert Downey Jr. will not be appearing in the film’s sequel. During Spider-Man: Homecoming’s press junket, ScreenRant got the chance to ask Holland which MCU veteran he would like to work with next.

“But yeah, Ant-Man would be my favorite. I want to have like a bug bros session. I think it’d be really cool.”

It would be pretty cool to see Ant-Man and Spider-Man team up, especially under the new series titled “Bug Bros”.

Directed by Jon Watts, the film stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tony Revolori, Kenneth Choi, Hannibal Buress, Abraham Attah, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.

A young Peter Parker (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released in theaters on July 7, 2017.

5 Ways Venom Could Show Up In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Previous1 of 6

Venom MarvelEven before Sony lent Spider-Man to Marvel Studios, there was talk about Sony doing their own spin-off films focusing on characters they owned, including both heroes and villains. The end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 even teased a possible Sinister Six film. Many thought that Venom, one of Spider Man’s most popular villains, would also get his own film. Although he appeared in Sam Rami’s Spider-Man 3, Venom was less than well received. If anyone could use a character redemption, it was Eddie Brock.

Those hopes seemed to dash after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was deemed a failure and Sony’s future with the Spider-Man character seemed uncertain. It seemed as if the movie gods smiled on fans as Sony worked out a partnership with Marvel Studios, which allowed Spider-Man to appear in Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Spider-Man’s first appearance in the MCU was in Captain America: Civil War and actor Tom Holland’s performance as the wall-crawler was universally praised.

But Sony’s not done doing their own thing. It was announced that a movie featuring Silver Sable and Black Cat was in the works. It was then revealed that Tom Hardy is attached to play Venom in another project. Marvel Studios has previously said that these projects would be based at Sony and exist outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Amy Pascal recently said that the Silver Sable and Black Cat film, as well as Venom, are set within the same universe as Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Did she let something slip, or was this wishful thinking on her part? Either way, that led us here at Heroic Hollywood to think of ways that Venom could be incorporated into and show up in the MCU. Click Next to take a look…

One thing to make the Homecoming sequel better? Size-shifting, web slinging and orange slices!

Seems like a natural fit. Would also be nice to have Daredevil in it too, at LEAST as a cameo.
