Newly released photos from the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, courtesy of Just Jared, reveal Spider-Man hanging from a helicopter, holding a girl who appears to have red hair.
Now, the obvious conclusion people will automatically jump to is that this is Mary-Jane Watson. But if you recall, our own Umberto Gonzalez over at The Wrap revealed in an exclusive report that Zendaya is in fact playing Mary-Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

In the pictures, we see Spider-Man dangling from a helicopter by a rope, holding a girl with red-hair, who has her phone out, presumably to take selfies during this awesome moment of heroism.

We can’t be too quick to assume actors are playing well-known comic book characters in movies just because they share matching hair or skin color like their comic book counterparts. When Donald Glover was announced as joining the cast, many people jumped to the conclusion that he was playing Miles Morales when it’s more likely he’ll be playing one of the teachers at Peter Parker’s high school.
A young Peter Parker (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Spider-Man Homecoming will be released on July 7, 2017.
