A new Easter egg was unearthed in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse thanks to a fan who spotted the reference in a single frame.
As most fans already know Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is packed full of references to the Wallcrawler, his comic adventures and his appearances throughout film and TV over the years. But a brand new Easter egg references the “so-so popsicle joke” from early on in the film. Hopefully the upcoming animated sequel will have just as many references, especially with the inclusion of new heroes like Silk. Producer Chris Miller recently teased fans on Twitter with Cindy Moon’s arrival in the second film.
But the most recent Spider-Man Easter egg was found by ‘Cyberbunbun’ on Twitter after spotting the similarities between the infamous popsicle of the Web-Slinger, and a shot of Chris Pine’s version of Spider-Man can be seen with the same distorted features as the misshapen icy treat. Although he’s definitely not a so-so Spider-Man. Producer Phil Lord even confirmed the Easter egg on Twitter after seeing the original tweet get plenty of love from Into the Spider-Verse fans. Take a look below.
