Spider-Man: Far From Home star Jake Gyllenhaal recently took to Instagram to share a message to Marvel fans.
As anticipation builds for Spider-Man: Far From Home, many fans are questioning everything they thought they knew about the movie. When the film was initially announced, many fans were curious who the next main Spider-Man villain would be. The previous Tom Holland Spider-Man entry, Spider-Man: Homecoming, dealt with The Vulture, The Shocker, The Tinkerer and many others so fans were excited to see who the next big screen Spider-Man villain would be. Fans went crazy when it was revealed that the film’s villain would be Mysterio and that he will be played by Jake Gyllenhaal.
However, the marketing campaign for Spider-Man: Far From Home has confused some fans. Initially, fans who knew Mysterio’s villainous Marvel background were shocked to see clips of Spider-Man and Mysterio teaming up to fight the Elementals. Additionally, it seems Mysterio’s backstory has been changed, as one of the film’s trailers revealed that he’s from another dimension. While we won’t know if Mysterio is the film’s real villain until it hits theaters in a few weeeks, Jake Gyllenhaal recently took to Instagram to thank Marvel fans. Details on the plot of Spider-Man: Far From Home are currently under wraps, though the film will follow Peter Parker as he joins his friends on a summer vacation in Europe. Introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man #13, the best known incarnation of Mysterio is a special effects wizard named Quentin Beck and the character has been a frequent foe for the web-head since his debut.

This Summer, 20th Century Fox's X-Men series will take another shot at trying to adapt the classic Marvel Comics story "The Dark Phoenix Saga" by Chris Claremont. With Dark Phoenix's release date fast approaching, IGN has revealed new posters featuring Sophie Turner's Jean Grey, Michael Fassbender's Magneto and more characters from the movie.

Veteran X-Men producer Simon Kinberg makes his directorial debut with Dark Phoenix in addition to producing the film with Hutch Parker, Lauren Schuler Donner and Todd Hallowell. Dark Phoenix is expected to be Fox's final X-Men film featuring the core X-Men cast in the cinematic universe launched by director Bryan Singer in 2000 with the Disney-Fox merger now complete.
