The official Rotten Tomatoes score for the MCU’s Spider-Man: No Way Home has been revealed.
It’s officially Spider-Man week! The road has been long and weary but fans will finally get to see the third film in Tom Holland’s Spidey trilogy later this week and they won’t be disappointed. Critics from all around the world huddled together yesterday to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home, praising it to no end. Early reactions and reviews have pegged it as the best Spidey film yet and one of the most interesting and darkest films that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has put out to date.
With early words so positive, it’s no surprise that the film has cobbled up a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Reviews are still trickling in, which means the score might stabilize and change in the coming days, but it’s worth noting the historic perfect score.
Black Panther was the previous reigning champ of the MCU, standing at #1 with an overall 96% percent. The last film to be released in the MCU, Eternals, also happens to have the lowest score with a whopping 47% percent. Should Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s 100% score stays intact, it’ll not only be the highest rated MCU feature, but also the highest Spidey film to date. Talk about swinging it out of the park.
Here is the synopsis for the upcoming film:
“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”
Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx, with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield heavily rumored to appear.
