‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Trailer Seemingly Hints At Hero Arc For Sandman

A possible continuation of his arc from Spider-Man 3?

Spider-Man No Way Home Sandman

The trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home potentially teased an interesting arc for Sandman.

Earlier this week, the first official trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home dropped, revealing some of the villains that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will have to face. Obviously, fans were treated with a big reveal of Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, but the appearance of other past Spider-Man villains from both the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield eras were teased in the trailer as well. One of those villains is Sandman.

Flint Marko AKA Sandman was one of the main antagonists of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3, where he was played by Thomas Haden Church. Given the implications of having Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx in the film, some speculate that we will be seeing the same Sandman from Spider-Man 3 return in No Way Home.

Spider-Man 3 ended with a redemption arc for Sandman, in which he apologizes to Peter Parker for the death of Uncle Ben. The fact that the character was last seen seeking some redemption has left fans wondering how his involvement with No Way Home would look like. Well, with the release of the newest trailer, fans are now speculating that he may be on Spider-Man’s side.

One of the more interesting shots from the trailer showcases lightning and sand together. Fans are now speculating that Sandman was using his powers to block out Electro’s lightning in an attempt to protect Spider-Man.

It will be really satisfying for fans of the Sam Raimi films to see Sandman’s redemption arc continue in Spider-Man: No Way Home. We’re just a few months away from finding out how all these villains are factored in, and we’ll see how Tom Holland’s Peter Parker deals with potentially the biggest threat that he’s ever faced off against.

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:
