Five new villain-heavy TV spots for Spider-Man: No Way Home feature our first good look at Sandman, as well as a connection to Iron Man.
Sony and Marvel Studios have opened the promotional flood gates, releasing a bevy of new TV spots for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland’s latest adventure as the web-crawler. The brand new TV spots feature a fair amount of fresh footage which should tide fans over until next Monday, which Sony and Marvel have dubbed “#SpiderMonday” the day fans can grab tickets for the threequel.
The TV spots are a heavy mix of brand new and old footage, with the previously seen content focusing on Tom Holland’s Spider-Man fighting Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus on the bridge and Spidey interacting with Doctor Strange. The new footage puts the focus on the villains, including Sandman, who we get a much better look at throughout the promotional footage.
The TV spot below also shows Jamie Foxx’s Electro, who we hear speaking for the first time. In addition to the character’s voice reveal, the TV spots also tease Electro’s new suit, which heavily takes from Iron Man tech, namely the Arc Reactor. It’s unclear how Electro got his hands on the Iron Man tech, but it wouldn’t be out of the question for him to steal it from Peter Parker, whose suits have been heavily inspired by Iron Man.
A brand new international TV spot from last week also gave a closer look at Electro’s suit, which has been modified by Iron Man tech. The same spot also gave the best look yet at Lizard, who alongside Sandman, hasn’t spoken in any promotional material yet.
Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:
“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”
