The hotly anticipated animated Spider-Man film Into the Spider-Verse is now released in theatres to the public, but yesterday, big fans of the Marvel comic book character created by the late Stan Lee and Steve Ditko got to see the film early. Critics and fans alike are raving about the film, with some even calling it the best Spider-Man movie of all time with its undeniable humour and heart. Now, thanks to Deadline, we have our first official look at the numbers that the film’s Thursday previews earned, raking in a quite impressive $3.5 million. This is just for the previews, which means the actual release numbers will surely be remarkably high.
Now that the movie is released worldwide in theatres, it will more than likely get more audiences attending because of the overwhelming response to the film, with an impressive 98% certified fresh critic score on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. The box office numbers that Into the Spider-Verse have already received is also surprising considering this is a family movie, which sometimes do not perform as well as other movies in the genre.
