During an interview with Fandango, Spider-Man: Far From Home star Zendaya discussed how MJ was affected by Thanos’ decimation in Avengers: Infinity War.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War concluded with Thanos successfully acquiring all six Infinity Stones and using them to erase half of the population in the universe from existence, including Zendaya’s MJ and many of her high school classmates. While the surviving heroes were able to retrieve the stones from the past and harness their power to bring back “the vanished,” it took five years before the chance to undo Thanos’ decimation presented itself.
With Spider-Man: Far From Home set to take place immediately after Avengers: Endgame, fans are curious to see how Zendaya’s MJ and the rest of her friends will move forward now that they’ve suddenly been brought back to life after five years. Now, Zendaya has commented on how MJ and the rest of the returning characters will have to lean on each other to move on in a world that has changed so much:
“[The Snap] kind of puts our characters in a special place, because now we come back and the world’s kind of changed, and we all have to kind of depend on each other a little bit more, because we’re like the oddballs now. We kind of have to confide in each other with that experience, and that’s cool.”
