Sylvester Stallone Will Have “Key” Supporting Role In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’

This past weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, the very first footage from Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 debuted and with it came confirmation of Sylvester Stallone’s long rumored role in the upcoming sequel. Let’s pause for a second there and let that one soak in. James Gunn somehow got Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell for a Guardians Of The Galaxy sequel. How cool is that?

Okay, let’s move forward now and discuss his actual role in the Marvel Studios release. While some might have believed that the iconic actor might just have a smaller role or cameo in the film, that definitely isn’t the case according to director James Gunn. Speaking with Cinemablend, the director explained that Stallone’s role in the film is an important one.

It’s a very, very key, important role. It’s not a huge role. He’s a great and key supporting actor.

While it’s been rumored that Stallone’s character would be a Ravager but his gear in the footage shown looked more like that of the Nova Corp. However, his role is still being kept under wraps for the time being, so it seems that we’re going to have to wait a bit longer to find out more details. Do you think that this “key” role end up leading to a bigger role down the line? Let us know your thoughts on the subject in the comments section below.
