Carrie Fisher Disney Legends

At the upcoming 30th Annual Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, the president and CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, will be inducting several people into the hall of fame. This ceremony will take place at the annual D23 expo.

The late Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, and Stan Lee are among those who will be honored at the ceremony. The studio giant has much more to choose from in actors now that they own Lucasfilm and Marvel. The late Gary Marshall, who directed Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries, as well as Oprah Winfrey, will also be honored at the ceremony.

Carrie Fisher originated the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars: A New Hope and then played her in four films, not including the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Her death posed a question of whether or not she will appear in the upcoming film, but it’s been confirmed that Fisher will appear in The Last Jedi.

Stan Lee is practically the face of Marvel and he was there at the beginning of the company’s inception and helped co-create several beloved comic book characters we know today. This includes Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men, which he all co-created with Jack Kirby.

The D23 Expo will be held on July 14, 2017.
