Keya Morgan, the late Stan Lee’s ex-business manager, was arrested in Arizona on Saturday morning after being charged in Los Angeles County with elder abuse.

According to the LAPD, in collaboration with Scottsdale and Phoenix police, Morgan was taken into custody by the Los Angeles police department.

Keya Morgan gained control of Stan Lee’s business affairs back in February 2018. Allegedly, he separated Stan Lee from his family and friends and isolated the Marvel mogul.

The LAPD spoke about it on Saturday stating:

Mr. Lee had a large estate worth over an estimated $50 million with no clear protection from opportunists who could insert themselves into his life and take control of it. It had been revealed that no one had clear legal authority to act on Mr. Lee’s behalf; yet, Morgan exerted his control and influence over Lee.

Documents filed in the Los Angeles revealed that Morgan has been accused of embezzling or misappropriating $5 million of assets in 2018. The LAPD said it launched an elder abuse investigation before Stan Lee passed away at 95.

Keya Morgan, aka Keyarsh Mazhari, faces many charges. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office hit Morgan in early May. He is facing one felony count of false imprisonment of an elder adult, three felony counts of theft, embezzlement, and forgery or fraud against an elder adult, along with an initial elder abuse misdemeanor count. Morgan’s bail has been set for $300,000.

Stan Lee died on November 18, 2018. He was a Marvel comic book legend, known for co-creating many of Marvel’s most famous characters, including Spider-Man, Black Panther, Iron Man, the Hulk, Daredevil, and many more. His characters were later adapted into films, many of them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Stan Lee’s legacy will live on through the many movies to come.

Stan Lee’s final cameo was in Avengers: Endgame. Here is a plot synopsis for the film:
