There are huge changes coming in the force. You have felt them. There’s a new adversary. Streaming. Alright, enough paraphrasing from The Empire Strikes Back. The final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars will debut not on television, but through Disney’s upcoming streaming platform. And with that final season comes a few changes and developments. And one of the actors involved discussed the current work on the series.
Ashley Eckstein, who does the voice of Ahsoka Tano in the Clone Wars series, recently sat down with CBR to discuss her work on the series, but also where work on the project is at the moment. As is often the case with actors, they can’t say much in order to avoid giving away spoilers, but she did mention that the cast is recording the series right now. Eckstein also discussed what Star Wars guru Dave Filoni brought to the season:
“So it’s coming to the Disney streaming service. And that’s about it. But, you know, I can promise — obviously, Dave Filoni is a part of it and he’s done his best to bring back a lot of the key people that were a part of the show, pretty much all the cast members and then also some of the main crew members. The stories are incredible, the people are incredible and anything that Dave Filoni touches is going to be amazing.”
And for many in Star Wars fandom, for Filoni to be involved is no doubt good news to them. You can watch Ashley Eckstein discuss the current work on the Clone Wars series in the video below at the 0:41 second mark:
That Dave Filoni is working to bring back a lot of those involved with the production of the series sounds like the series will indeed go out with a bang and proper sendoff with people involved who have been there since the beginning. With the series now debuting on a streaming service instead of television, does that factor into your decision of how you’ll watch it?
