Dave Filoni announced the release dates for Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi and The Bad Batch season two at D23 over the weekend.
There was plenty of focus on Lucasfilm’s upcoming live-action projects at D23 on Saturday. However, Dave Filoni also shared new details about their upcoming animated projects, The Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi.
At Star Wars Celebration, the first trailer for The Bad Batch season two was released, which teased a fall release date. Rumors have suggested a September start, but Filoni confirmed at D23 that Bad Batch‘s 16-episode season two will premiere with two episodes on January 4, 2023.
First Look At Tales of the Jedi Released
Lucasfilm is also set to release an animated anthology series that will tell new stories focused on Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku. In addition to releasing the first trailer, Filoni also said all six shorts will hit Disney Plus on October 26. You can watch the trailer for Tales of the Jedi below.
Here is the synopsis for Lucasfilm’s next Star Wars series, Andor:
“The ‘Andor’ series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.”
Andor stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Genevieve O’Reilly. Tony Gilroy, Dan Gilroy, Stephen Schiff, and Beau Willimon served as the writers of the Star Wars series while Toby Haynes, Susanna White, and Benjamin Caron directed the episodes.
