When we last saw John Boyega’s Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, he had been wounded by Kylo Ren and separated from Rey as she left to seek out Luke Skywalker.
When speaking with Access Hollywood at this weekend’s D23 Expo, John Boyega teased that Finn will be very much a part of the action in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and that his story will include a “dark mission.”
“It’s gonna be lots of fighting for Finn. A lot of running, a lot of shooting. It’s a really dark mission.”
Written and directed by Johnson, The Last Jedi includes Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa, Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Lupita Nyong’o as Maz Kanata, Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico, Laura Dern as Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Andy Serkis as Supreme Leader Snoke, Domhnall Gleeson as General Armitage Hux, Benicio Del Toro as “DJ”, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, and Jimmy Vee as R2-D2.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to be released in theaters on December 15, 2017.
