While promoting Star Wars: The Last Jedi in Tokyo, Japan, director Rian Johnson revealed that actor Joseph Gordan-Levitt will have a voice-over role in the film.
Johnson confirmed Gordon-Levitt’s role during a fan event, where he revealed a few minor details on the character and indicated that fans will be able to recognize the actor’s voice:
“My very good friend, the actor Joseph Gordan-Levitt, who was in a movie I made called Looper, he does a cameo as a voice of an alien in the film. So, it’s a very brief little thing, but it’s fun and if you watch the movie maybe you’ll be able to hear and pick out Joe’s voice in the movie.”
Gordon-Levitt has previously appeared in all three of Johnson’s feature films, including Brick and an uncredited cameo in The Brothers Bloom as a bar patron.
