While details on the upcoming film Star Wars: Episode VIII have been slim, lately there has been a lot of discussion about the villain Kylo Ren and his role in the next chapter of the Star Wars saga. Actor Adam Driver discussed exploring the characters humanity in a recent interview on Larry King Now while rumors of Kylo Ren’s costume changes have prompted a lot of excitement among fans. Now, MakingStarWars.Net is reporting that the famously temperamental villain will be taking control of his own ship, one that is very familiar to Star Wars fans.

According to MakingStarWars.Net, Kylo Ren will have his own personal TIE Fighter.

“We’ve heard a credible rumor that in Star Wars: Episode VIII Kylo Ren has a personal ship. The ship, like some of his new costume, will seem a little familiar as it is a First Order TIE Advanced. His ship is slightly unlike his grandfather’s used in the attack against the rebels at the Death Star trench. The fuselage is sort of pill-shaped like the TIE Striker in Rogue One. They actually built the ship physically at Pinewood according to our friends near the sets.”

According to the site, the ships design is said to be reminiscent of concept art for The Force Awakens revealed in summer 2015. You can check the art out here!

Are you excited about the prospect of seeing Kylo Ren pilot a new TIE Fighter? Should they go with the above designs or start from scratch? Share your thoughts below!

Directed by Rian Johnson, Star Wars: Episode VIII stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.

Star Wars: Episode VIII will be released in theaters on December 15, 2017.
