Warning: this article contains a potential spoiler for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Thanks to the folks over at MakingStarWars.net, we may have the first name of a new planet introduced in the upcoming eighth chapter of the Skywalker saga, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
If you’ve followed the production of The Last Jedi closely, you’ll remember the project shot on location last year in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Filming took place on Stradun, the historical centers main street, as well as on the beaches and just off the coast in the center of the port.
The site believes that the exterior scenes filmed in Dubrovnik were for a planet called “Canto Bright”. Up until now, the planet has been dubbed the “Casino Planet” because the exterior sets built on top of shop entrances on Stradun looked to be what could have been the entrance to a casino in the Star Wars universe.
Take this planet name with a grain of salt as MakingStarWars.net points out “Canto Bright” could be a codename for the planet itself. Nor has it been confirmed that this planet is host to a casino. But if Canto Bright is indeed the planets name and it does turn out to be host to a casino, fans of Star Wars: Bloodlines can kiss any hope of seeing the casino on Daxam IV in live-action goodbye.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15, 2017.
