Variety is reporting that Star Wars: The Last Jedi led social media buzz this past week, according to media-measurement firm ComScore and its PreAct service.

The eighth chapter in the Skywalker Saga generated 221,000 new conversations following the release of new official posters and a behind the scenes video. In addition, a panel at the D23 Expo with director Rian Johnson on July 15 certainly helped to create more buzz for the sequel, which is set for release on December 15.

Coming in second this week was Dunkirk, with 215,000 new conversations. The Christopher Nolan helmed World War II drama is set to be released in 70mm in over 125 theaters, which is the widest for that format in 25 years. This is a clear example of Warner Bros.’ support of their director’s continued push for a greater cinematic experience. The film will hit theaters on July 21.

The D23 Expo definitely helped Disney films dominate the social media conversation, as the next five most talked about movies belonged to the Mouse House. Coming in third was Avengers: Infinity War, which sparked 135,000 new conversations following new footage shown at their panel. The film opens May 18.

Next up came The Incredibles 2, which produced 81,000 new conversations, and A Wrinkle in Time, which generated 57,000 conversations after footage was shown at their D23 panels. Both films open June 18 and March 9, respectively.

Marvel Studios upcoming Black Panther took the next spot with 54,000 new conversations, and finally, Mary Poppins Returns rounds out Disney’s week of dominance with 32,000 new conversations. Black Panther will hit theaters on February 16, and Mary Poppins Returns will bow on December 25, 2018.
