A new set video from the production of the first-ever live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian reveals Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok ) on set directing the season finale.
According to Making Star Wars, Waititi was seen rehearsing an action scene featuring The Mandalorian himself with executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. In addition to Waititi, Filoni is directing the first episode with other episodes helmed by Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), and Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates). Colin Wilson and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy also serve as executive producers along with Karen Gilchrist will co-executive produce.
Pedro Pascal was confirmed to star in the series this week after being previously rumored for the show last month. Gina Carano (Deadpool) has also joined the cast. Plot details remain under wraps however the series is confirmed to take place six years after Return of the Jedi and will explore the Star Wars timeline between the original and sequel trilogies.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
