Natalie Portman has expressed excitement to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker while reaching out to her own fans.
Reaching out to her fans via her Instagram, Natalie Portman shared a new photo of herself in the role of Padmé Amidala in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones while asking her followers about their excitement for The Rise of Skywalker. At the time that she posted this message, The Rise of Skywalker had not yet opened in the United States; since then, the movie is on-track to have the third-biggest opening in the franchise’s entire history.

Padmé Amidala has a substantial role in the Star Wars Skywalker Saga as the wife to Anakin Skywalker, the mother to Luke Skywalker and Leia Organ, and the grandmother of Ben Solo. Following the release of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, Natalie Portman has been critical of her own part in the series, claiming that it hurt her career as an actress rather than helping it, just as she’s been critical of her Thor appearances for similar reasons. Nonetheless, it seems like she’s reconciled with both Marvel and Lucasfilm alike, between agreeing to return as Jane Foster in Thor: Love and Thunder and promoting The Rise of Skywalker.

Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Ian McDiarmid, and Billy Dee Williams. Carrie Fisher also appears as General Leia Organa through the use of previously unreleased footage shot for previous Star Wars films.
