The upcoming Star Wars Disney Plus series, Obi-Wan Kenobi has been pushed back but will now premiere with two episodes instead of one.

The road to the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series has been a long one full of many bumps in the road. Originally the series was set to be a solo film in the same manner as Solo: A Star Wars Story and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Following Solo‘s failure at the box office, many of these proposed projects were reworked and/or converted into Disney Plus projects. The Kenobi series was said to be one of these efforts.

Work on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series seemed to have begun an eternity ago. The Mandalorian director Deborah Chow was brought on to direct the entire series. Unfortunately, the series ran into a few script issues which caused the whole thing to be delayed for several months. Earlier this month, the series’ first trailer was finally released with a May 25th premiere date seemingly set in stone. Sadly, fans are going to have to deal with one more delay though not for as long as one may fear.

In a recent post, star Ewan McGregor revealed that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series was going to be delayed for only a couple of days. The series will now debut on May 27th instead of the 25th but would also premiere with two episodes instead of one. You can see the full video below:

Here is the synopsis for the upcoming Star Wars series:

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi embarks on a crucial mission. Kenobi must confront allies turned enemies and face the wrath of the Empire.”

Directed by Deborah Chow from Joby Harold’s scripts, the series stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. The series will also see the return of legendary Star Wars composer John Williams, who scored a theme.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will hit Disney Plus on May 27th, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the franchise and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
