‘Star Wars: Rebels’ Showrunner Teases ‘Rogue One’ Tie-Ins

With Season 4 of "Star Wars: Rebels" recently announced, Dave Filoni discusses what "Rogue One" setups we could see next season.

The Season 3 finale of Star Wars: Rebels just premiered last night, but preliminary news about the upcoming 4th season is already being revealed. After the finale, the Rebels Recon Youtube show sat down with showrunner Dave Filoni to talk about what is to come in Rebels and how the next season will set up the events of Rogue One:

“You will see Mon Mothma again, you’ll see Saw Gerrera again. You’ll get much more of an insight into seeing how that relationship breaks down and breaks apart.”

Obviously, we have already seen both Mon Mothma and Saw Gererra on Rebels before, but Gererra has a way to go before he becomes the dying, rebel outcast we meet in Rouge One. Filoni also says that we might just see an iconic ship show up very soon in the show. Watch the video below to learn more about Season 4, including the possible death of the Mandalorians:

Star Wars: Rebels has been an incredibly popular show since its creation. Tasked with bridging the gap between the prequel and original trilogies, Rebels started 5 years before the events of A New Hope. Considering that the series will likely end with the advent of the events of Rogue One, Season 4 might act as a farewell to the characters of the show. However, Rebels has proven that the ending of one show (The Clone Wars) does not mean that characters and storylines cannot be finished in a different series.

While the future of Rebels after Season 4 is unclear, there is evidence of a new Star Wars animated series being developed under Filoni as well. Whatever ends up happening, be sure to check Heroic Hollywood for any updates on the Star Wars Universe.
