The first trailer for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has been released, offering a glimpse into the newest addition to the Star Wars universe set to debut on Disney Plus this December.
Created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeline as The Mandalorian and its related spin-offs, following the events of Return of the Jedi. The story centers on four children who make a mysterious discovery on their home planet, leading them on a perilous journey across the galaxy as they try to find their way back home.
Jude Law stars in Skeleton Crew as Jod Na Nawood, a Force-user who helps guide the young adventurers on their quest. Joining him in the cast are Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith as the four central children. The series also features performances by Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Nick Frost, who lends his voice to a droid named SM 33.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episode Count & Premiere Date
Skeleton Crew was developed by Watts and Ford after Watts approached Lucasfilm with the idea of creating a coming-of-age story in the Star Wars universe, inspired by the style of Amblin Entertainment’s classic films. The series was officially announced at Star Wars Celebration in May 2022, with Law’s involvement revealed at the same event. Filming for the series took place in Los Angeles, beginning in September 2022 and wrapping up by late January 2023.
Skeleton Crew will consist of eight episodes, with the first one dropping on Disney Plus on December 3, 2024. With executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni involved, the series is expected to maintain the high standards set by other recent Star Wars projects on Disney Plus.
