New footage from behind-the-scenes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars highlights the motion capture stunts that went into Ahsoka’s duel with Maul.

The latest episode of The Clone Wars finally saw Ahsoka duel Maul on Mandalore and a new behind-the-scenes video shows how the beautifully choreographed fight was created. Executive producer Dave Filoni revealed that Ray Park returned to play Maul again, this time via motion capture instead wearing the practical make-up. The stuntman explained they decided to add bigger acrobatic moves to Maul’s repertoire, including butterfly twists and corkscrews.

The video also shows off Lauren Mary Kim’s excellent work in bringing Ahsoka’s fighting style to life, with the stuntwoman explaining that collaborating with Ray Park has been a great journey. She explained that although it’s a grounded fight between the two, there’s plenty of big action moves that she hopes fans will like. Maul voice actor Sam Witwer said he got “goosebumps” watching the pair duel, with Ray Park comparing the fight to a dance. Take a look at the video from The Clone Wars below.
