According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first official trailer for the Star Wars series The Mandalorian will debut at Disney’s D23 Expo this week.
When Disney+ launches in November, a new live-action Star Wars series titled The Mandalorian will be available with the streaming service. Set a few years after the events of Star Wars – Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, the series will follow the exploits of a lone Mandalorian gunfighter and fans are excited to see the space franchise expand on the small screen.
Unfortunately, to date, only fans who attended Star Wars Celebration Chicago earlier this year have been given a glimpse at The Mandalorian through exclusive footage that was screened at the event. However, The Hollywood Reporter’s recent piece on The Mandalorian writer and showrunner Jon Favreau notes that the series will “be teased with a trailer at the D23 conference Aug. 23.”
The Mandalorian is being touted as one of the big selling points for the company’s streaming service, so the debut of the first trailer for the new Star Wars series comes as no great surprise.
Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood to watch the trailer for The Mandalorian when it becomes available.
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte. The series was written by Jon Favreau, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is also on board as a co-executive producer.
Dave Filoni will direct the first episode of the series and additional episodes will be helmed by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope director Rick Famuyiwa, and Jessica Jones episode director Deborah Chow.
The Mandalorian will premiere on November 12, 2019, exclusively on Disney+.
