A brand new poster for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker harkens back to the 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope.
This new poster for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes courtesy of RealD 3D in promotion of the film’s presentation in that format. The poster places the Sequel Trilogy’s trio of main heroes united together with a giant helmet of Kylo Ren in the horizon. As you can see, it mirrors the original poster for A New Hope:

It’s fitting that this poster for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker would pay tribute to A New Hope’s poster. After all, 1977’s A New Hope was the film that kickstarted the cultural phenomenon and given that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set up to be the conclusion to the Skywalker Saga after over 40 years, it only makes sense to pay tribute to where it all began.
