Lucasfilm presented new footage from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker during a video montage presented ahead of the Disney Legends Ceremony at D23.

The Star Wars sequel trilogy is set to conclude with The Rise of Skywalker and bring an end to the eponymous family’s saga. While the film is still roughly four months away from hitting theaters, D23 attendees were given a glimpse at new footage from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker at the convention.

The first new footage from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker revealed Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron repelling from a docked ship in a hangar and turning his attention to someone or something offscreen. A new shot of John Boyega’s Finn wearing a stylish vest is then shown before the preview cuts to Daisy Ridley conversing with the former Stormtrooper in a different outdoor location. “It’s too dangerous. I have to go alone,” she tells him.

The D23 footage then cuts Adam Driver’s Kylo standing in a white room as he glares at a container that the next shot reveals contains the mask of Darth Vader. The final shot features Rey in the pilot seat of the Millennium Falcon with Chewbacca ready to co-pilot while Finn and Poe can be seen standing behind them.
