Disney CEO Bob Iger generously helped a terminally ill Star Wars fan get a private screening of The Rise of Skywalker at a hospice in England.

A terminally ill Star Wars fan will be able to see The Rise of Skywalker thanks to Disney CEO Bob Iger. A hospice in England recently asked for help in getting a lifelong Star Wars fan a screening of the film since “time is not on his side” in regards to the late December release date. Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed they were able to organize a showing in mid-December so that the fan and his son could get to see the latest Star Wars film. In a statement released by the hospice, the patient expressed his gratitude to Disney and everyone involved in making the screening happen.

“I just want to say the biggest thank you to everyone that has helped to make this happen. During what is just a horrible situation to be in, you have helped to make some wonderful memories and bring some joy to my family. I am a huge Star Wars fan and what I am going through is completely dire. Then to top it all, I thought I wasn’t going to see the film I have been waiting to see since 1977! I still can’t believe it. The only way I can describe this to you is to say that this must be what it feels like to be told you have won a million pounds!”

Disney CEO Bob Iger took to Twitter to confirm that Disney were able to organize a screening of the latest film for the patient. While many Star Wars fans have had issues with the new trilogy of films, it’s fair to say that moments like this prove that fandom can have a positive impact on the world.
