First Look At Maz Kanata In ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ Revealed

A first look at Maz Kanata in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was revealed at the upcoming film’s press conference on Wednesday.

When the full Star Wars: The Force Awakens poster dropped, fans got their first proper look at the franchise’s latest CGI creation, Maz Kanata. The character had a sizable role in The Force Awakens and was notably portrayed by Academy Award winning actress Lupita Nyong’o. In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Maz Kanata only appeared, in an often criticized scene, where she sends Finn, Rose, and BB-8 after the “Master Codebreaker” on Canto Bight.

Despite Maz Kanata’s small role in The Last Jedi, Lupita Nyong’o confirmed that she will return in The Rise of Skwalker. Maz Kanata has yet to appear in any marketing for The Rise of Skywalker, besides a brief glimpse in the official trailer. The first proper look at Maz Kanata in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was revealed at the film’s press conference and has now surfaced online thanks to Reddit. You can check out the image below.
