Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is estimated to earn at least $175 million in its opening weekend.
Over forty after the original Star Wars debuted in theaters and became a sensation, The Rise of Skywalker will mark the end of an era by bringing the nine-part to a definitive end. With roughly three weeks left until Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker debuts in theater, the first round of box office estimates have trackers forecasting an opening of at least $175 million.
However, trackers also estimate Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker could also earn as much as $200-210 million in its first weekend in theaters. The previous sequel trilogy films, The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, opened with $248 million and $220 million, respectively. However, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will arguably face more competition than its predecessors, with high-profiles release like Jumanji: The Next Level opening the week before while Cats and Bombshell will debut alongside the space epic.
