The cast of Arrow sat down with ET at San Diego Comic-Con to dish on the show’s final season and Stephen Amell talked about Emily Bett Rickards’ departure.
Cast members Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy Rodgers, David Ramsay and more came together to reminisce about Arrow at San Diego Comic-Con, but Stephen Amell had a lot to say about Emily Bett Rickards and her departure from the series before the final season.
During the discussion, the subject of Emily Bett Rickards returning came up. Stephen Amell admitted that he had no idea whether Rickards would return to Arrow for the show’s final season. Regarding her departure, he told ET:
“I actually texted her when I was on the plane to Vancouver last week and I just texted her that I was sad,” “The show feels different, in no small part because Em Bett’s not with us anymore. It feels different.”
Amell then said the following: about Emily Bett Rickards’ play:
“She’s living her best life. I’m so proud of her. I’m going to see her play next Saturday. She’s doing great. We miss her a lot.”
Emily Bett Rickards departed Arrow this past March ahead of the show’s final season. In April, Emily Bett Rickards announced she’d be starring in the Off-Broadway version of Reborning, reprising her role from the previous year.
