Stephen Colbert Is Down To Take Over As DC’s Superman

The story surrounding Henry Cavill’s future as Superman in the DC Extended Universe has been rocky but if Warner Bros. needs a replacement, it seems that Stephen Colbert is down and already has the costume ready.

The DC Extended Universe had to face a heavy blow recently as it seems that Henry Cavill is no longer Superman. The public statements from Warner Bros., Cavill and his reps make it appear that Cavill is still playing Superman, though no decision has been made on any future Superman movie.

If Cavill ever wants to give up the role, there would no doubt be a flood of actors, newcomers to A-list, that would love to take the role. One comedian has just put his name in the hat for the role and it’s probably not one you’d expect. Stephen Colbert, host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, recently tweeted out this message in response to the rumors that Cavill was no longer Superman.

Obviously, Colbert is joking, but he would no doubt make for a great superhero voice actor. Hopefully, we’ll see Supes back on the big screen sooner than later. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Superman and the DC Extended Universe as more information becomes available.

If Cavill ever walked away from the role, who would you like to see play the role of Superman on the big screen? Let us know in the comments below!

Henry Cavill’s Superman was last seen in Justice League. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, the film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news surrounding the DC Extended Universe and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video content in the future!
