Cinematographer Tim Ives has revealed production on the final 2 episodes of Stranger Things season 2 will begin on Thursday.

Ives took to Instagram on Wednesday night to share a photo of the Hawkins woods as he expressed his excitement to begin work on the final episodes titled “The Brain” and “The Lost Brother” which will see series creators The Duffer Brothers return to the direct.

The cinematographer shared the photo along with the caption:

My on set chair back against familiar woods. We start filming the final 2 episodes of season 2 tomorrow. Super stoked and melancholy at the same time. #setlife #strangerthings #ruleofthirds

Matt and Ross Duffer turned over directing responsibilities to Finding Dory director Andrew Stanton to helm the fifth and sixth episodes back in February with Rebecca Thomas (Electrick Children) most recently directing the seventh episode “The Secret Cabin” in order for them to finish writing the eighth and ninth episodes. Production on season 2 is expected to complete sometime during May.

Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Noah Schnapp.

The series has also added Sean Astin (The Goonies), Paul Reiser (Aliens), Brett Gelman (Jobs), Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers), Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen and broadway star Sadie Sink.

The adventure continues in the fall of 1984 as the world is turning upside down. Stranger Things Season 2 hits Netflix this Halloween.
