Stranger Things 4: Vol. 1 has officially become Netflix’s most-watched English-language series of all-time.

While Squid Game remains the most popular series in Netflix history, Stranger Things 4 has helped propel the entire series further along as the most popular in the English language for the streaming giant. The fourth season, which will have its final two episodes premiere in less than three weeks, continues to break viewership records.

Netflix released the following statement regarding the success of Stranger Things 4: Vol. 1:

“Stranger Things 4 continues to break records as it turns the world upside down. In the third week, the Hawkins crew pulled in an additional 159.24M hours viewed. The series has also cemented itself as the Most Popular English-language TV series on Netflix with an astounding 781.04M hours viewed, the first English language series to do so in this period of time.”

Some much-needed good news for Netflix.

Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1 couldn’t have come at a better time for Netflix. The streaming giant has suffered a rough 2022 due to massive losses in the company, including a loss of over 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter, and a market cap of $54 billion in the biggest one-day stock drop ever back in April.

Here is the synopsis for fourth season for Netflix’s hit series:

“It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”

Created by the Duffer Brothers, the Netflix series stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, Brett Gelman, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, and Joseph Quinn.

Vol. 2 of the fourth season for Netflix’s blockbuster series will drop on July 1st. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the season, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
