Netflix has shared a cryptic new teaser for the highly-anticipated fourth season of its hit series Stranger Things.
As a whole, Stranger Things has been a huge hit for Netflix, but in spite of it being more than two months since the release of Season 3, there has been no word of renewal. Cancellation is clearly not an option, either. In any case, fans are likely in for some good news about when a renewal may happen, as the streamer recently shared an image of an upside-down clock in the show’s dark, foreboding alternate dimension. You can check out the new Stranger Things 4 teaser below.
Funnily enough, the clock is set to eleven, much like the show’s psychic little girl. Furthermore, Netflix also added some sort of cryptic tease suggesting that this clock, and the “Upside-Down” itself, will factor heavily into the next season of Stranger Things. It can be seen on Twitter:

Fans are already blowing up the internet with speculation. Could Stranger Things 4 hit in time for Christmas 2020? Is there a time-travel plot involved in the next season? Could Netflix surprise-drop some sort of Stranger Things Halloween special? There’s little to definitively say at this point. The showrunners of Stranger Things have indicated that the series will either wrap up with a fourth season or a fifth. Time symbolism is usually associated with endings, so it might be possible that this is the last big adventure that the kids and adults of Hawkins, Indiana are going to have — or we could be reading too much into it. We probably won’t have an idea until Stranger Things gets an official renewal order.
The official synopsis for Stranger Things 3 can be read below:
“It’s 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, and summer’s heating up. School’s out, there’s a brand new mall in town, and the Hawkins crew are on the cusp of adulthood. Romance blossoms and complicates the group’s dynamic, and they’ll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart. Meanwhile, danger looms. When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they’ll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear.”
Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Dacre Montgomery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, and Cara Buono.
Stay tuned for the latest news on the fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things as it develops.
