Production on the highly-anticipated third season of Netflix’s blockbuster phenomenon, Stranger Things has finally wrapped, and while the series is expected to have at least one more season after its third, one of its stars in David Harbour already knows how his character’s arc will eventually end when the whole series concludes.
Harbour, who recently completed his work in filming the third season revealed that he already knows the endgame when it comes to the complete arc for Chief Hopper:
“We’re either going to season 4 or season 5. It’s still being debated. I do know the arc of the story, though. This was something that I discussed with [show creators] the Duffer brothers right from Day One.”
Harbour continued:
“Like Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi have an arc to them; I think Stranger Things, be it season 4 or season 5, has an arc to it that I understand.”
Given that Harbour knows how Chief Hopper’s story will conclude, it is likely that the Duffer Brothers have not just a definitive ending for that character, but for all of the characters involved in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. Hopefully, our beloved friends will survive the events of what’s to come, but things are only get stranger from here.
Plot details remain under wraps, however, Stranger Things 3 has been confirmed to take place during the summer of 1985. Production on the third season is drawing to a close with the next adventure set to debut on the streaming service sometime in the summer of 2019.
Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, and Dacre Montgomery. New additions to the cast for season three include Maya Hawke, Cary Elwes, Jake Busey, and Francesca Reale.
