Stranger Things Netflix

Last summer, when Netflix debuted Stranger Things, the series became an instant sensation that took the world by storm. The Duffer Brothers resurrected the visual storytelling styles of cinema from the 70’s and 80’s with their homage to the magical films from Steven Spielberg and novels by Stephen King. While the renewal for a second season wasn’t announced immediately, a follow-up to the 1983 adventure was a no brainer. During the Super Bowl tonight, Netflix dropped the first official teaser, giving us our first look at the at the second season which has been officially branded as a movie sequel — Stranger Things 2. Check it out below!

Stranger Things season 2 picks up a year later in the fall of 1984. It’s set to explore the consequences of Will Byers’ week spent in the upside down. When the first season closed — just as everything seemed to be okay — Will threw up one of the slugs we saw coming out of dead Barb’s mouth in the upside down. In addition, the interdimensional gate at the Department of Energy is still open.

Stranger Things season 2 stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb Mclaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Noah Schnapp.

The series has also added Sean Astin (The Goonies), Paul Reiser (Aliens), Brett Gelman (Jobs), Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers), Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen, and broadway star Sadie Sink.

Season 2 of Stranger Things hits Netflix on Halloween.
