Suicide Squad Gets 20 Minutes Of ‘Movie Sins’ Treatment

Suicide Squad
The Cinema Sins team took a shot at last year’s Suicide Squad and it was not pretty, not pretty at all. If you follow their YouTube channel you know the quite famous Every Thing Wrong With series which goes over the selected movie ‘sins’; meaning things like plot holes, inconsistencies or just silly arguments in general. So when you hear they did a clip on David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, you bet is going to be a long one. Here’s the description for it:

‘Well, here’s an absolute travesty of a movie, from start to finish. Suicide Squad has so many sins, I considered quitting. This movie is just… bad. And here are its sins.’

Admittedly, like in all movie sins videos, a lot of what they point out are small things that are included for fun, but they also point out stuff that everyone noticed, like the over use of random songs through the movie, the ridiculous amount of survived helicopter crashes and the many nonsense plot holes.

You can watch Suicide Squad’s 157 movie sins in the video below. But be warned, the sentence was: ‘Sandlerfied’. Ouch.

So what did you think of Suicide Squad? Do you agree with all the listed movie sins? Let us know in the comments below.

157… is that a record amount of sins for Cinema Sins or has anothe film received more sins than that

    • Maxi Iroh

I think Cinema Sins got more than that.

pretty much every movie gets that many sins on that channel now. They have become insanely picky, and even flat out wrong at times. Heck, they loved Deadpool and still had some 130+ sins before they started removing sins like crazy at the end.
But take this SS one. The movie gets a sin for the weird canon fodder things carrying off Rick Flag and not kililng him. The movie clearly explains why this was the case later. That should not have been a sin.
I watch these things to get a chuckle, but lately I more or less get annoyed versus laughing.

Lol. Dceu providing everlasting jokes for a lifetime. Aquaman use to be dcs biggest joke. Now the entire dc as a whole is a joke lmao. Priceless.

Someone isn’t reading Rebirth which is topping the comic books charts.

This person has WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much time on his hands to be ridiculously picky lol

The movie was not THAT bad. Still don’t get how people couldn’t even follow along with Suicide Squad. Its a really straightforward movie.

It’s that bad. It’s not about following the film, you can’t. It’s incredibly simple but a total mess. It constantly leaves out information and repeats itself.

      • 12stepCornelius

I agree there’s some choppy editing around the Midway City sequences, but no, you can very easily follow the movie. If you can’t, I don’t know what that says about you as a moviegoer (or a critic for that matte). Give me one literal example where you got lost in Suicide Squad or where pertinent information was left out for such a simple plot.

Like I said, it’s not difficult to follow, it’s more pointless to follow. But things like Waller being the goal of their mission makes no sense. Also Enchantress having a secret brother and him being able to make her missing heart irrelevant is just not explained.

          • 12stepCornelius

Waller was the goal of their mission because she tried to control Enchantress for military purposes because of her abilities and it didn’t work. The operation blew up in Waller’s face. Waller was monitoring the situation inside the operation zone (Midway City) and became trapped once Enchantress released her brother and the two effectively locked the city down with no way in or out while Enchantress built her doomsday machine. Waller then tasked the Squad and Rick Flag to extract her, without letting the Squad members know who it was exactly they were extracting. There, that’s explained.

And Enchantress said aloud in the movie how she was able to survive. She asked for her brother to share his power with her before her heart was destroyed. He did. She survived because of it. How does that need further explaining? She obeyed Waller initially because she did not have her brother there to ensure her survival. Once she released him, she could feed off of his power in place of her own.

And yes, you did imply that the movie was difficult to follow, impossible actually, as you put it, “It’s not about following the film, you can’t.”

Whereas I just gave two explanations presented in the movie itself to plot points you apparently didn’t follow.

Great Cinema Sins video. It highlights many of the huge problems with this garbage pile of a film.
