In just a few weeks from now, CBS’ Supergirl will be having a big crossover with The CW’s The Flash as Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) comes over from Central City in Earth-1 over to National City where he will befriend Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) in a heroic adventure titled “Worlds Finest”.
This past weekend, Supergirl had their Paley Fest presence and spoke with reporters at the red carpet to give them some teases to what is coming up, including the crossover. In an interview with TV Line, both cast and crew were asked about the crossover, starting with Greg Berlanti who said how the Multiverse factors into it.
“Obviously, you have to understand the concept of superheroes and that they can have all sorts of different kinds of powers when [The Flash] shows up. People will appreciate how he gets [to National City] and their journey that they take in the hour.”
Benoist also spoke about what it was like working with Gustin and how well the two heroes will be getting along when they share the screen together.
“It is the most joyous occasion to have these two superheroes together in the same place, at the same time, working together. They are both so happy with their powers and what they get to do and how they get to help people, that it’s kind of infectious and exciting and upbeat and happy.”
Supergirl, which returns tonight for its five remaining episodes of season one, airs 8/7c on CBS with The Flash, which returns next week, airs on Tuesday nights, 8/7c on The CW.
