‘Supergirl’ EP Talks Ms. Martian’s Introduction & Relationship With J’onn J’onzz In Season 2

One of the big new players that we will be seeing introduced in Season 2 of CW’s Supergirl, is the character of M’gann M’orzz a.k.a. Ms. Martian who will be played by Hellcats’ Sharon Leal as previously announced at the recent Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. No further details have been revealed about her role in the live-action series, but in a recent interview with Collider, Andrew Kriesberg (show-runner and executive producer of all 4 CW DCTV shows) was asked about what’s coming up for David Harewood’s Martian Manhunter.

When asked, Kreisberg went in a bit deeper on what Ms. Martian’s introduction to the series will do for J’onn.

“Part of the reason we’re bringing on Miss Martian is to give J’onn his own story this year and his own emotional ride, meeting her and having this tie to his home world that he thought he would never have again. As he has to keep reminding people, he’s been here for 300 years and isolated for most of it. Last year, with his relationship with Alex and his relationship with Kara, he started to come out of his shell a little bit and wasn’t quite so afraid to show who he really was. So, in getting to interact with M’gann, he’s going to have a whole new person with which to share his martian experience. We think it’s going to be a great story.”

Supergirl Season 2 takes flight on Monday, October 10 at 8/7c at its new home on The CW.
