Supergirl To Have Big Role In Multi-Show Crossover

Fans of the DC programming on The CW can look forward to yet another multi-show crossover this fall. And with Supergirlย now fully integrated into The CW lineup, she is going to have a much bigger role in the narrative.

Speaking to ComicBook.com,ย showrunner Robert Rovner had the following to say about this yearโ€™s big crossover:

โ€œItโ€™s a true four-part crossover that will start [withย Supergirl] and be on this fall. And thatโ€™s all we can say about it. Itโ€™s going to be super.โ€

Co-showrunner Jessica Queller concurred as she said:

โ€œItโ€™s going to be awesome! Best crossover ever!โ€

So as the Supergirl showrunners discussed this large scale crossover, the actors also decided to get in on some of the fun. Joking about the number of shows and characters participating, Mehcad Brooks, who plays Jimmy Olsen, joked:

โ€œWeโ€™re going to have a new series calledย Crossover. And itโ€™s only going to be crossovers. Likeย Jane the Virginย [would become]ย Janeย the Super Virgin.โ€

It sounds like fans can expect quite an event when all the heroes are brought together this season.

Ridding National City of Queen Rhea and her Daxamite army was a major win for Supergirl, but one that came at a significant cost, as Kara was forced to sacrifice her budding relationship with Mon-El. When season three returns with all-new supercharged adventures this fall on The CW, Kara and team will come up against a new threat in the form of DC Worldkiller, Reign.

Supergirlย season three will premiere on Monday, October 9 at 8/7c on The CW with the crossover scheduled later this fall.
