‘Supergirl’: General Zod Spotted In New Set Pics & Video

Supergirl General Zod

Last week, we learned that Mark Gibbon (The 100, Falling Skies, Once Upon a Time) had been cast as General Zod for the Season 2 Finale of Supergirl. Now, we have our first look at Gibbon (who also had a small role in Man of Steel) as General Zod in The CW series, via some on-set photos and videos.

Hollywood North shared a couple of images of Gibbon’s Zod on Twitter, one of which shows the character using his heat vision (pre-VFX, of course). You can check those out below:

Twitter user ThemysciraBound also shared some images from the set, as well as a video of Zod shouting, “You actually care for these Earth people?” It is unclear whether he is speaking to Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl or Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman, who is also confirmed to appear in the season finale, but not featured in any of the images.

You can check out the images and video in the Tweets below:

We don’t know much about Zod’s arrival in National City just yet, but we’ll presumably learn more as Supergirl‘s Season 2 Finale, which airs May 22nd, approaches. Until then, here is the synopsis for next Monday’s episode, entitled “Alex”:

“Alex” – (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

ALEX IS KIDNAPPED – Alex (Chyler Leigh) is kidnapped and the kidnapper threatens to kill her unless Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) releases a notorious criminal from prison. Supergirl and Maggie (Floriana Lima) have always had different approaches to apprehending criminals but this time they must work together to save Alex. Meanwhile, Rhea (guest star Teri Hatcher) has an interesting proposal for Lena (Katie McGrath). Rob Greenlea directed the episode written by Eric Carrasco & Greg Baldwin (#219). Original airdate 5/1/2017.”

Supergirl airs Monday nights at 8/7c on The CW. Be sure to check back right here on Heroic Hollywood every Tuesday night for our weekly episode reviews.
